  • Once you arrive at Nameri National Park, proceed to check in to the accommodation you have selected.
  • Explore the surroundings and return to the resort in the evening.
  • Relax around and share stories.
  • Enjoy a sumptuous dinner and rest for the night.

 

Day 2: Nameri National Park and Return

  • Wake up early and set yourself up for the foot trek. Reach the starting point by 5:45 am as the trek starts at 6:00 am.
  • Embark on a guided jungle trek within the park. Explore the rich biodiversity, spotting various species of birds, butterflies, and maybe even some wildlife.
  • Post trekking, return to the resort for breakfast.
  • After breakfast, prepare for a thrilling rafting adventure on the Jia Bhoroli River. Immerse yourself in the tranquil surroundings and spot the diverse aquatic life.
  • Post rafting, you may explore the nearby birdwatching spots. Explore the lush surroundings and capture beautiful moments.

How to reach Nameri National Park?

From Tejpur - 37 km, 55 min

From Bhalukpong - 27 km, 40 min

From Guwahati - 211 km, 4 hr 35 min

From Kaziranga National Park - 67 km, 1 hr 50 min

Parts of Nameri National Park are in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, where it's known as Pakke Wildlife Sanctuary. It was declared a Tiger Reserve in the year 2000.

About the Foot Trek

It needs permission to enter Nameri National Park for trekking and river rafting, and one can obtain it from the Nameri Forest Department Office. 

 

This trail is an elementary Level 1 trek on the plain forest for all age groups. You will be accompanied by a forest ranger while trekking on the forest trail. It is recommended to start the trek at 6:00 am. The route begins after crossing the Jia-Bhoroli River. To cross the river, reach the point of boarding country boats. It's on a first-come, first-basis queue; hence, try arriving early. Also, the chances of discovering more birds and animals are earlier in the morning. You will come across a sandy-rocky river beach to reach the campsite.

 

Trail 1 - To and fro to Kuruwa Bill, which is 4 km

Trail 2 - A circle of 7 km to Watch Tower 1 & 2, that can be covered in 3 hr

 

The trail is an attraction for Bird-watchers. There are many wild birds in the forest, including the hornbill. Giant Indian Squriles can be spotted. You may spot many animals, like elephants, tigers, deer, bison, and more, gathering around the stream near Watch Tower 2 to drink water. It is the only trail on foot among the national parks in Assam.
